How to Pick Orders (Mobile App)
Claim Customer Orders and Warehouse Transfer Orders, enter picked quantities, and confirm picks directly from your mobile device.
Before You Begin
By default, only fully allocated orders that are not already claimed by another user are shown on the Pick Orders screen. To also see partially allocated orders, tap the settings button in the bottom of the dashboard and toggle on Enable Partially Allocated Orders.
Note: If you enable partially allocated orders, you can see orders where only some items are ready to pick. Orders where no items have been allocated yet cannot be opened and will remain unavailable until stock is allocated through the web-based software.
How to Open and Claim an Order
Step 1: Open the Pick Orders Screen
From the dashboard, tap Orders. You'll land on the Pick Orders screen, which shows all orders available to pick or already claimed by you.

- 3-dot menu — Access settings and switch warehouses
- Search toolbar — Search or scan to find a specific order
- Order tiles — Orders available to pick, or orders already claimed by you
Each order tile shows:

- Order Number, customer name, and order type
- Order Date — When the order was placed
- Items picked / Total Items — Progress through the order (e.g. 0/3)
- Claim status — Ready (available to claim) or Claimed by you (already assigned to you)
Step 2: Select an Order
Tap an order tile to open it, or use the Search toolbar to find a specific order by order number or customer name.
Step 3: Claim the Order
Tap Claim in the top right corner to assign the order to yourself and begin picking. The screen displays:

- Active order number — Confirms which order you're picking
- Claim button — Assigns the order to you and starts picking
- Item tiles — Items to be picked in this order
- Confirm Pick button — Completes the picking process
How to Pick the Items
Step 4: Enter Picked Quantities
Once claimed, you can optionally use the Search / Scan Items field to filter the item list to a specific SKU.
For each item, enter the quantity picked using one of these methods:
- Tap + or − to adjust the quantity
- Tap the quantity field and type the amount directly
- Scan the item barcode to increment the count (if one-to-one scanning is enabled in the settings).
You will see the progress for the items being picked.

As you pick items, the item tile updates to reflect your progress. The quantity counter in the top right of the tile shows how many have been picked out of the total required (e.g. 1/2), and the status badge in the bottom left changes to reflect your current progress:
- Partial — Some but not all of the required quantity has been picked
- Picked — The full required quantity has been picked for this item
Step 5: Confirm the Pick
Once all item quantities have been entered, tap Confirm Pick at the bottom of the screen to complete the picking process.
The app won’t warn you if some items are still unpicked when you confirm. It only submits quantities greater than zero. If anything is left unpicked, you’ll need to finish those in a separate pick or make adjustments in the web app.
Tracked Inventory — What to Expect
Behavior varies depending on how your items are tracked:
| Item type | What happens during picking |
|---|---|
| Standard | Enter quantity as normal |
| Perishable | Expiration date is chosen during allocation, no action needed during picking |
| Lot tracked | Lot number is chosen during allocation, no action needed during picking |
| Serialized | You must scan or enter each serial number individually |
Serialized items: After scanning, serial numbers will appear on the Serial Scan Screen. To remove an incorrect serial, tap the X next to it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I unclaim an order after I've claimed it in the Zenventory mobile app?
Yes. Tap the Claim button again — it toggles to Unclaim — to release the order back to the pool immediately. Any quantities you have already entered will not be saved. Another picker can then claim and pick the order from the Pick Orders screen.
What happens if I confirm a pick before all items are fully picked?
The app will submit whatever quantities you have entered with no warning. Only items with a picked quantity greater than zero are submitted. If you need to pick the remaining quantity, you will need to handle it as a separate pick or adjust through the web-based software.
Can I change a lot number or expiration date during picking?
No. Lot numbers and expiration dates are set during allocation and cannot be changed from the mobile app. To make changes, use the web-based software.
