Shopify integration changes taking effect 6/30/2023 & how to update

After Jun 30, 2023 Shopify will no longer support the deprecated order fulfillment API that is in use by many Shopify integrations in Zenventory.  Timely action is required to migrate affected integrations over to the new workflow.

High level summary of changes

  • Apps like Zenventory must now work with Fulfillment Orders, rather than Orders directly.
  • Fulfillment Orders intended for fulfillment in Zenventory must now be routed to a new dedicated Location in Shopify.
  • Orders that are edited to add items post-checkout will now generate an additional, separate Fulfillment Order.
  • Orders that are edited to remove items post-checkout will now cancel the old order in Zenventory and re-send a new one.  This is only possible if the order has not been fulfilled yet.
